Belarus and Uzbekistan
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Uzbekistan were established on January 21, 1993. The Embassy of the Republic of Belarus in the Republic of Uzbekistan was opened in February 1994. The Embassy of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Republic of Belarus started its work in March 2018.
In September 2018, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko paid an official visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan. During the visit, 19 bilateral documents were signed in different areas of cooperation.
On July 31 – August 1, 2019 President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev paid an official visit to the Republic of Belarus. During the visit, a number of important events were organized: the first Forum of regions of Belarus and Uzbekistan, National exhibition «Made in Uzbekistan», Days of Uzbekistan Culture in Belarus.
In 2021, a series of meetings of the President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took place within the framework of multilateral events.
In May 2021, Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov paid a working visit to Minsk to participate in a session of the Council of Heads of Governments of the CIS.
The Republic of Uzbekistan was visited by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus A.Subbotin in March, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus N.Snopkov in July 2021.
In 2021, trade turnover with Uzbekistan amounted to 301.9 million dollars, including exports – 245.4 million dollars.
Belarus exports to Uzbekistan mainly trucks, beef, tractors, sugar, pharmaceutical products, vaccines, powdered milk, parts and accessories for tractors, vinyl chloride polymers, poultry meat, gas stoves, X-ray equipment, cheese.
The main import items from Uzbekistan are cotton yarn, dried fruits, fresh and dried grapes, copper rolled metal, bed sheets, nuts, knitted fabrics, textile products, tungsten.
The 8th Session of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Uzbekistan was held on March 2021 in Tashkent.
Consultations between the Ministries of foreign affairs of Belarus and Uzbekistan were held in Tashkent in March 2021.
Belarusian machinery joint venture LLC «AMKODOR-AGROTEXMASH», the shoe manufacturing, founded by the Belarusian holding «Marko», the production of welding electrodes with the participation of LLC «Svetlogorsk plant of welding electrodes» are function on the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
