Belarus and Georgia

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and Georgia were established on January 6, 1994. Diplomatic missions have been opened in both countries.

In 2015 and 2018, President of the Republic of Belarus paid official visits to Georgia. In 2017, the official visit of the President of Georgia to Belarus was organized.

In December 2016, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus paid an official visit to Georgia.

In 2016-2017, Prime Minister, Chairman of the Parliament and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia visited Belarus.

On November 15-18, 2017 for the first time in the history of bilateral Belarusian-Georgian relations, the Days of Culture of the Republic of Belarus were held in Georgia. On September 1-2, 2018 the Days of Culture of Georgia were held in Minsk.

More than 60 agreements and treaties have been signed between the countries in various fields of cooperation.

The 6th Session of the Intergovernmental Belarusian-Georgian Commission for Economic Cooperation was held in Minsk in February 2020.

In 2023, trade turnover between the Republic of Belarus and Georgia increased by 1.1 times compared to the level of 2022, and Belarusian exports increased by 1.3 times.

The main Belarusian exports to Georgia were ethyl alcohol, condensed and dry milk and cream, longitudinally sawn timber, fiberboards, medicines, furniture and its parts, malt and potatoes.

Stiff drinks, grape wines, mineral water, nuts, clays, waters, including mineral and carbonated waters, with sugar imported from Georgia.

On the territory of Georgia, a showroom and service center of OJSC MTZ and OJSC BZTDiA, 20 stores selling Belarusian food products, 3 retail stores of Bellegprom enterprises, 3 light industry stores Mark Formelle, as well as a furniture salon for selling products of JSC "Pinskdrev" were opened.
