Belarus and Georgia

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and Georgia were established on January 6, 1994. Diplomatic missions have been opened in both countries.

In 2015 and 2018, President of the Republic of Belarus paid official visits to Georgia. In 2017, the official visit of the President of Georgia to Belarus was organized.

In December 2016, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus paid an official visit to Georgia.

In 2016-2017, Prime Minister, Chairman of the Parliament and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia visited Belarus.

On November 15-18, 2017 for the first time in the history of bilateral Belarusian-Georgian relations, the Days of Culture of the Republic of Belarus were held in Georgia. On September 1-2, 2018 the Days of Culture of Georgia were held in Minsk.

About 60 agreements regulating different spheres of cooperation have been signed by the countries.

The 6th Session of the Intergovernmental Belarusian-Georgian Commission for Economic Cooperation was held in Minsk in February 2020.

In 2020, trade turnover with Georgia amounted to $86.3 million, Belarusian export totaled $50.6 million.

The main items of Belarusian exports to Georgia were sugar, ethanol, passenger vehicles, malt, milk and cream concentrated and dried, medicines, electrical transformers, wires and cables, plywood.

Main Georgian imports to Belarus included mineral water, strong spirits, grape wines, waste and copper scrap, nuts, oil products.
