Belarus and Azerbaijan

Belarus and Azerbaijan increased interaction in all spheres of mutual interest.

Diplomatic relations between the countries were established on June 11, 1993. Since 2006, 9 official visits at the highest level, 3 visits of the Prime Minister of Belarus to Azerbaijan, 11 meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation have taken place.

In 2020, Belarus trade turnover with Azerbaijan amounted to 447.1 million dollars, export totaled 190.1 million dollars. 

Railway passenger coaches, harvesting or threshing machinery, wood sawn or chipped lengthwise, butter, medicaments, fiberboard of wood or other ligneous materials, meat of bovine animals, milk and cream, tractors were the main export goods to Azerbaijan. 

From Azerbaijan Belarus imports petroleum oils, polymers of ethylene, polymers of propylene, undenatured ethyl alcohol, nuts, potatoes, electrical transformers and others. 

Since 2007, a number of joint projects in the field of industrial cooperation have been launched including assembly lines of Belarusian tractors and trucks. The leader of the Belarusian-Azerbaijani cooperation in the sphere of industrial cooperation is Ganja automobile plant.

The distribution network of Belarusian producers on Azerbaijani market is composed of 6 business entities and 45 dealers, representing the interests of more than 50 Belarusian exporters.
