Comment by the press-service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus in connection with the decision of the Ukrainian side to abolish the special fee regarding certain items of Belarusian export (September 12, 2016)

The Belarusian side welcomes the decision of the Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade of Ukraine, dated September 8, 2016 № 360/2016 / 4411-05 on renunciation, starting from September 15 this year, of special fee in the amount of 39.2% regarding the significant items of Belarusian export to Ukraine (tractors, dairy and fish products, beer, vodka, refrigerators and freezers, legwear, glazed tiles).

This decision is a part of the agreements, reached during the fourth session of the Belarusian-Ukrainian High Level Working Group on mutual trade (was held on September 2, 2016, Kiev). Co-Chairman of the Working Group from Belarusian side is the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Yeudachenka.

The decision will eliminate a key constraint to the trade and economic relations between Belarus and Ukraine, will create predictability in trade relations between the two countries and will help to increase mutual trade turnover.

The Belarusian side expressed the hope to continue the constructive dialogue with the Ukrainian partners, aimed at the rejection of the introduction of unjustified trade barriers and the solution of all disputes exclusively by means of consultations.
