Statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus in connection with the aggravation of the situation in the Middle East
The Republic of Belarus is deeply concerned about the new round of military escalation between Israel and Iran and reports of the deaths of civilians, including children.
The violent scenario of the conflict poses a serious threat to regional stability and security, carries the risk of a humanitarian catastrophe and may have unpredictable global consequences.
We call on all parties involved to exercise restraint, responsibility and avoid actions that could have a negative impact on the political and diplomatic efforts of the international community aimed at a comprehensive settlement of the situation in the Middle East.
We strongly recommend that citizens of Belarus take into account the current situation, carefully weigh the need to travel to countries in the conflict zone, and, when planning such travel, follow official notifications from the aviation authorities about possible restrictions on the use of airspace in a number of countries, as well as about the suspension of airport operations.
Citizens of the Republic of Belarus travelling in the region are urged to strictly observe security measures and be guided by the recommendations of the authorities of the country of stay.
