Statement by the MFA Press Service with regard to the terrorist attacks in Algeria and Pakistan

The Republic of Belarus resolutely deplores the terrorist attacks perpetrated in Algeria and Pakistan on 19 August 2008 which led to numerous human casualties.

We express our profound condolences to the relatives and next of kin of those perished and firmly condemn the murderous acts of the terrorists.

We are confident that the efforts of extremist organizations to bring instability into the political situation in the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria and Islamic Republic of Pakistan will be decisively repulsed by the peoples of Algeria and Pakistan.

We reiterate our commitment to uniting the international community in combating any manifestation of terrorism.
