First Deputy Minister S.Lukashevich meets the Federal Minister of Commerce and the Federal Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Cooperation of Pakistan

On July 3, 2024 within the framework of the sixth round of political consultations in Pakistan, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Sergey Lukashevich, met with the Federal Minister of Commerce of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Jam Kamal Khan, and the Federal Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Cooperation of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Kazim Niaz.

During the meeting with the Federal Minister of Commerce, who co-chairs the bilateral Intergovernmental Commission, the parties discussed interaction between Belarus and Pakistan in trade and economic cooperation, industry and agriculture, banking sector. An agreement was reached to intensify the work on coordinating the Roadmap for increasing mutual trade turnover for the period of 2025-2027. 

In the course of the meeting with the Federal Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Cooperation, the sides discussed topical issues of expanding bilateral trade and economic partnership between the countries.

The parties considered the implementation of the Protocol of the sixth meeting of the Joint Belarusian-Pakistani Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation held in Minsk in January 2023, the dates of the next meeting, as well as confirmed the interest in intensifying contacts between the business circles and regional leaders of the two countries.
