Working visit of Ambassador of Belarus U.Baravikou to Laos

On May 20-21, 2024 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Vietnam and to Laos concurrently, Uladzimir Baravikou, paid a working visit to the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

During the meeting with the Deputy Minister of Education and Sports of Laos, Kingmano Phommahaxay, the parties discussed promising areas of cooperation between Belarus and Laos in the relevant areas. Interest in the participation of Lao students in the educational programmes of Belarusian universities was confirmed.

At the meeting with the President of the Lao Academy of Social and Economic Sciences, Kongkeo Xaisongkham, the sides discussed the possibilities of developing mutually beneficial cooperation in the scientific sphere and the implementation of joint projects.

Within the framework of the visit the Ambassador also met with the Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos, Suansavan Viyaket. The sides touched upon practical aspects of bilateral cooperation, in particular, the possibility of signing a cooperation agreement between the relevant departments of the two countries. During the meeting, the development of cooperation on information and tourism issues were touched as well.
