Statement of Belarus Foreign Ministry on visa-free travel to Belarus for the citizens of 35 European countries

17 July 2024

In order to further demonstrate the openness and peacefulness of our country, its commitment to the principles of good-neighbourliness, as well as to facilitate inter-human contacts and improve freedom of movement, the President of the Republic of Belarus has supported the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other state bodies to establish a procedure for temporary visa-free entry, exit and stay in the Republic of Belarus through all road and railway checkpoints for the citizens of 35 European countries (the list is attached).

Technically, this procedure will be effective from 8.00 a.m. on 19 July 2024.

Thus, citizens of all European countries, in respect of which Belarus applies visa regime, from Friday can enter and leave through all land and air international checkpoints of the State Border of the Republic of Belarus with valid documents, and stay on the territory of our country for no more than 30 days from the date of entry.

This visa-free entry and exit procedure will be in effect until 31 December 2024.

The current regime of visa-free entry through land border crossing points for citizens of Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and other countries is also preserved.

At the same time, the previous visa-free regime for entry through air checkpoints will remain in force, which creates additional logistical opportunities for visitors of the Republic of Belarus against the background of artificial obstacles and restrictions on the part of neighbouring Western countries.
