On Creation of Euroregional Medical Centre

On November 3 the agreement on the creation of the joint Belarusian, Lithuanian, and Polish Euroregional Medical Center for Research and Education was solemnly signed in Bialystok (Poland).

For Belarus the Agreement was signed by the Rector of the Medical University in Grodno Professor Petr Gorelik, for Poland – Rector of the Medical Academy in Bialystok Professor Jan Gursky and the Marshalok of Podlaska province Janusz Krzyzewski, for Lithuania – Dean of the Medical Faculty of the Vilnius University Zita Ausrele Kutinskiene.

The centre will organize the exchange of specialists and students, hold joint scientific research, mostly in oncology. It will host the professional courses of doctors and students of medical establishments located in Neman Euroregion.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland declared a speech on the singing ceremony.

The Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Poland Pavel Latushko attracted the attention of the participants to the Chernobyl catastrophe consequences and expressed the hope that that the scientific activity of the centre will deal with that problems.

The Belarusian signatory was rector of Grodno Medical University professor, the Polish – rector of Bialystok Medical Academy January Gorski and Marshal of Podlaska province, the Lithuanian – dean of Medical Department of Vilnius University.

The ceremony was attended by the Consular General of the Republic of Belarus in Bialystok Leonid Korovayko
