Belarus, Lithuania to Finish Common Border Demarcation on 10 March 2006

A ceremony to mark the completion of the demarcation of the Belarusian-Lithuanian state border will take place on March 10.

The ceremony will feature the installation of the last border marker on the lake of Gilutas in the Braslav region, Vitebsk oblast, close to the motorway Vidzy-Dukshtas.

Belarusian deputy foreign minister Alexander Mikhnevich, senior officials of the interior ministry of Lithuania, border department of two countries, ambassadors of the EU countries and Russia accredited in Belarus and Lithuania, representatives of the TACIS bureau in Belarus, geodesy and cartography experts of two states, officials of the mixed commission for demarcation issues and local self-government, and representatives of mass media are expected to attend the event.
