Belarusian-Russian consultations on interaction in international organisations

On March 26, 2025 the Belarusian-Russian interministerial consultations on cooperation between Belarus and Russia in international organisations were held in Minsk. The Belarusian delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yury Ambrazevich, and the Russian delegation was headed by the the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Vershinin.

The parties noted the high level of interaction between the two states in international organisations and the proximity of Belarus and Russia's approaches to the global agenda.

The interlocutors discussed current trends in the work of international organisations at the present stage and outlined joint steps to promote and protect common interests on multilateral platforms.

The participants in the consultations highly appreciated the role of the Group of Friends in Defence of the Charter of the United Nations in promoting multilateralism and defending the norms and principles of the UN Charter and agreed to continue joint efforts to strengthen the foundations of a multipolar world order.

Considerable attention was paid to the prospects for the formation of a new security architecture in the Eurasian space.

Y.Ambrazevich and S.Vershinin reaffirmed their countries' focus on enhancing bilateral interaction on international platforms and strengthening the positions of Belarus and Russia in the system of multilateral diplomacy.
