Belarus-Myanmar Business Meeting with the Participation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov

On January 10, 2025 within the framework of the official visit to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Maxim Ryzhenkov, took part in the Belarusian-Myanmar Business Meeting in Yangon, the economic capital of the country.

The event, which gathered about 90 representatives of business circles and government institutions of the two countries, was organized by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry jointly with the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Myanmar.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Meeting, the Belarusian Foreign Minister emphasized that Belarus and Myanmar are systematically deepening mutually beneficial friendly relations, the aim of which is to increase the well-being of the citizens of both countries. 

“We proceed from the fact that the economies of our countries are not competitors, on the contrary - they mutually complement each other. We only need to effectively use this in practice,” Maxim Ryzhenkov noted.

During and after the event, representatives of Belarusian and Myanmar companies held a series of talks on cooperation in agriculture and food, pharmaceuticals, supplies of Belarusian vehicles and procurement of a number of goods of interest to our business circles.

The Myanmar side was represented at the event by Chairm of the Myanmar Economic Corporation, Nyo Saw, the Union Minister of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations, Kan Zaw, and the Union Minister of Commerce, Tun Ohn.

Maxim Ryzhenkov summarized the results of joint work in a separate meeting with Myanmar colleagues.
