On Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Belarus and Mauritania
07 July 2004On July 6, 2004 the Republic of Belarus and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania established diplomatic relations. The ceremony took place in the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Belarus to the UN Department in Geneva.
On behalf of the Government of the Republic of Belarus a joint communiqué on establishment of diplomatic relations was signed by the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Belarus to the UN Department and in other international organizations in Geneva Sergei Aleinik; on behalf of the Government of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania – by the Permanent Representative of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania to the UN Department and other international organizations in Geneva Mohamed Salek Uld Mohamed Lemin.
After the ceremony the sides discussed prospective directions of development of the political and trade-economic cooperation, and the interaction between the two states within the framework of international organizations.
