Foreign Minister of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov meets with the Head of the International Department of the Central Committee of CPC

On July 9, 2024 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Maksim Ryzhenkov, met with Liu Jianchao, the Head of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party.

The parties had an in-depth dialog on political cooperation and other aspects of the bilateral relations between Belarus and China. They discussed interaction within the framework of regional organizations and in the international arena.

Liu Jianchao stressed the importance of Belarus joining the SCO, noting that this way the organization has geographically expanded to the European continent. 

The parties noted the convergence of approaches on the need to promote a fairer multipolar world order.

Maxim Ryzhenkov emphasized that the development of relations with China is a strategic direction of the foreign policy of the Republic of Belarus. Despite the complicated international situation and tense geopolitical situation, our countries have been able to demonstrate an example of genuine cooperation based on mutual respect, understanding and support.

Security issues and conflicts in the Eurasian region were discussed separately. Mutual understanding of the need to make every possible effort to resolve them was reaffirmed.

Liu Jianchao positively assessed the interaction between the CPC Central Committee and the Presidential Administration of Belarus, as well as inter-party contacts with the Belarusian side. He expressed his willingness to continue and further develop them. 

Maksim Ryzhenkov invited Liu Jianchao to take part as a guest of honour in the High-Level Conference on Eurasian Security, which is scheduled to be held in Minsk this autumn.
