First Deputy Minister S.Lukashevich participates in the Belarusian-Pakistani Political Consultations

On July 2, 2024 the Islamic Republic of Pakistan hosted the sixth Belarusian-Pakistani Political Consultations at the level of Deputy Ministers. The Belarusian delegation was headed by the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lukashevich, and the Pakistani delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shafqat Ali Khan.

The sides discussed a wide range of issues of Belarusian-Pakistani cooperation in political, economic, humanitarian and other areas, as well as promising areas of further interaction.

Steps and opportunities to boost trade, including in industrial and agricultural products, were considered.

The sides noted similar approaches and views on the modern world order and adherence to the principles of the UN Charter. The parties agreed to continue the practice of mutual support on the international arena, including on the platforms of the United Nations.

During the meeting of the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Sergey Lukashevich, with the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, Muhammad Cyrus Sajjad Qazi, the parties reaffirmed the friendly nature of the Belarusian-Pakistani relations and their focus on their further strengthening and development.

The sides discussed the development and improvement of the bilateral legal framework, as well as the list of documents to be signed.

Amid global challenges, the parties agreed to strengthen coooperation within the SCO. S.Lukashevich thanked the Pakistani side for supporting Belarus' accession to the Organisation as a full-fledged member state.
