Minister M.Ryzhenkov visits the Armenian Apostolic Church and meets the representatives of the Armenian Diaspora

On September 6, 2024 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Maxim Ryzhenkov, together with the Chair of the Minsk City Executive Committee, Vladimir Kukharev, visited the Armenian Apostolic Church under construction in Minsk and met with representatives of the Armenian Diaspora. 

The meeting was attended, in particular, by the Chair of the Armenian Cultural-Educational Society ‘Hayastan’ in Minsk, as well as representatives of the community. 

In a friendly atmosphere the participants discussed issues of developing cooperation between the Belarusian state and public structures and the Armenian Diaspora, organisation of joint events and promotion of creative initiatives. The sides stressed the long-standing friendly ties of the Belarusian and Armenian nations, mutual aspiration to strengthen fruitful and mutually beneficial contacts. 

The Minister underlined that the Armenian Diaspora is patriotic towards its second Motherland and contributes to the development and prosperity of the Republic of Belarus.

The participants of the meeting emphasised that Belarus highly respects the preservation by national minorities of their traditions, rituals, cultural and spiritual values. At the state level, significant support is provided for the activities of diaspora organisations and the implementation of thematic projects. One of the examples of such effective support is the construction of the Armenian Apostolic Church and a social and cultural centre in Minsk.

The Belarusian Foreign Minister wished speedy completion of the construction, as well as success in implementing the goals and objectives of the Armenian Diaspora organisations.
