In the year of the 80th anniversary of the Victory, the staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus took part in the republican clean-up day on the territory of Nalibokskaya Pushcha.
Work was carried out to landscape the historical and tourist site dedicated to the partisan movement in Belarus. This partisan camp was patterned on similar ones in Nalibokskaya Pushcha, in particular, the detachments of the Bielsky and Zorin brothers.
About 50 employees of the Ministry together with their family members took part in the clean-up day. The diplomats planted more than 50 saplings of spruce and birch, and also cleaned up 3 hectares of the area.
First Deputy Minister, Sergey Lukashevich, emphasised that diplomats traditionally and actively support republican social and patriotic initiatives and actions.
According to the decision of the Minister, Maxim Ryzhenkov, this year the MFA's clean-up day was held in the territory known for its partisan multinational movement. “Let’s recall the Jewish detachment of the Bielsky brothers. These are people who not only fled from the atrocities of fascism, they fought. They fought for their homeland, for their future,” noted Sergey Lukashevich.
“We have always been a peaceful land. Yes, we have never given up our land to be offended. But you will not find any mention of Belarusian aggressors in history. They do not exist. They do not exist and will not exist,” the First Deputy Minister emphasised.
