First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs S.Lukashevich meets the international observers at the election of the President of the Republic of Belarus

On January 27, 2025 the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Sergey Lukashevich, met with the international observers at the election of the President of the Republic of Belarus from Brazil, Kenya and China.

The Co-Chairman of the BRICS Association of Journalists, Lucas Leiros, who is an independent observer from the Federative Republic of Brazil, shared his positive impressions of the election campaign, noting its transparency and democracy.

The parties also exchanged views on the prospects for the development of relations between Belarus and Brazil both in the bilateral format and within the framework of international cooperation. 

During the meeting with Senator Ledama Olekina, the Member of the Upper House of the Parliament of Kenya, the interlocutors discussed the organization and conduct of the presidential election in Belarus and considered the prospects for the development of Belarusian-Kenyan relations with a focus on the economic component. Both sides agreed to promote mutual visits at various levels in order to develop practical cooperation between the two countries.

At the meeting with Xie Xiaoyong, the head of the observer group from the People's Republic of China, former Ambassador of China to Belarus, the parties summarized the results of the election campaign and discussed the work of the Chinese observers.

The head of the Chinese delegation noted the high level of organization of the election campaign, as well as drew attention to the fact that the presidential election is a real holiday for Belarusians.
