Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus M.Ryzhenkov meets the Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization

On January 25, 2025 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Maxim Ryzhenkov, met with the Secretary General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Nurlan Yermekbayev, Head of the SCO Mission for Observation of the Elections of the President of the Republic of Belarus.
During the meeting, the SCO’s active work in monitoring electoral processes in Belarus was noted.
The parties discussed current issues of Belarus’ participation in the activities of the SCO, including the implementation of initiatives suggested by the Republic of Belarus after achieving the status of a member state of the Organization – arranging the AgroSCO exposition within the framework of the Belagro international exhibition, the proposal to create the SCO Inter-Exchange Union, and others.
The promising areas of cooperation within the SCO, as well as modalities for reforming and increasing the efficiency of the Organization, including the efficiency of decision-making, were discussed.
