Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus M.Barysevich visits Vietnam

On January 12, 2022 the Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus, Mikalai Barysevich took part in the Belarusian-Vietnamese inter-ministerial consultations which were held in Hanoi.

During the meeting, the participants exchanged views on the entire bilateral agenda, confirmed mutual interest in intensification of political contacts and discussed the interaction within international organizations.

The sided agreed to hold in the near future meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation, noted the necessity of further strengthening of interregional ties.

The Belarusian side submitted proposals to improve the legal framework of bilateral relations. In addition the topics of joint activities in the field of education, science, culture and tourism were considered.

The parties approved a number of events dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of the diplomatic relations between Belarus and Vietnam.

On January 12, 2022 the Deputy Foreign Minister of Belarus was received with a courtesy visit by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam, Bui Thanh Son. 

The parties reaffirmed the friendly nature of the Belarusian-Vietnamese relations and the desire to raise bilateral cooperation to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership.

The parties expressed their firm intention to promote the political dialogue, paid special attention to the trade and economic cooperation, discussed joint actions to combat COVID-19, etc.

The day before Deputy Minister held meeting with the Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, Dang Hoang An.

Preliminary agreements were reached on the format, timing and agenda of the following meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.

In addition, the Deputy Minister met with the head of the Vietnamese Union of Friendship Organizations, Nguyen Phuong Nga, and the Chair of the Vietnam-Belarus Society, Nguyen Tuan Phong.
