Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus S.Aleinik meets Ambassador of Pakistan to Belarus

On February 12, 2024, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Sergei Aleinik, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Belarus, Sajjad Haider Khan.

On the occasion of the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Pakistan (3 February 1994) the Sides exchanged congratulatory messages.

The sides noted the high level of Belarusian-Pakistani relations achieved over the past three decades. Particular emphasis is placed on the results of cooperation between Belarus and Pakistan in the trade and economic sphere. The positive dynamics of interaction between the two states in international organizations was noted.

The Belarusian Side expressed gratitude to Pakistan for supporting Belarus’ application to join the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the prompt ratification of the Memorandum of Commitments in order to obtain the status of a SCO member state. The sides discussed the issues of interaction in all dimensions of the SCO.

The interlocutors outlined work plans for 2024, including exchange of visits, holding of political consultations and a number of thematic events dedicated to the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

The sides confirmed Mutual interest in intensifying the entire range of bilateral relations between Belarus and Pakistan.
