On the Establishment of the Diplomatic Relations between Belarus and the Republic of Djibouti

On August 26, 2013 the signing of the joint communiqué on the diplomatic relations establishment between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Djibouti took place in the Embassy of Belarus in Paris.

On behalf of Belarus the joint communiqué was signed by Mr.Pavel Latushko, Ambassador of Belarus, on behalf of Djibouti – by Ambassador of Djibouti – Mr.Rachad Farah.

It is marked in the communiqué that the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Djibouti agreed to establish diplomatic relations to strengthen friendly relations and develop bilateral political, economic and cultural cooperation based on the recognition of equality of the two countries, independence, sovereignty, inviolability of territory and noninterference into the internal affairs of each party.

The Republic of Djibouti has become the 184th state in the list of the countries Belarus established diplomatic relations with.

During the meeting the Ambassadors of Belarus and Djibouti discussed the development of economic cooperation between the two countries, the issues of Belarus’ automobile and tractor technical equipment deliveries to Djibouti and the countries of Eastern Africa.

The Ambassador of Djibouti informed on the interest in the concurrent accreditation of the Ambassador of Djibouti to Russia in Belarus.

The Ambassadors considered cooperation within UNESCO.
