02 September 2024

On September 2, 2024 at the Palace of the Republic, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Maxim Ryzhenkov, took part in the Solemn Event of the Academy of Public Administration under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Belarus dedicated to the Day of Knowledge and the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic year.

‘The most important thing in working with young people is to communicate the philosophy of our country's peace-loving foreign policy,’ the Minister emphasised. The Foreign Minister stressed that Belarus builds its foreign policy on the principles of mutual trust and consideration of the interests of all parties, non-use of force to resolve the issues, as well as building an international consensus on multipolar, diverse development of the world.

Among the guests of honour and participants of the festive meeting were Rector of the Academy, Igor Buzovsky, Hero of Belarus, Cosmonaut, Deputy Chair of the Board of the Belarusian Peace Foundation Marina Vasilevskaya, listeners, master's students, undergraduate students and professors of the Academy.

M.Ryzhenkov noted that the Academy of Public Administration is the flagship of Belarusian higher education, the main training centre for executive personnel of the country. ‘It is not just the Academy, but a friendly big family, uniting both the students who have just entered the Academy, and those who are already studying, and the attendees who are here to improve their qualification or take retraining courses, and the teaching staff, which combines the wisdom, which is almost a century old, with the young enthusiasm of postgraduates, and the researchers, who develop studies on the development of executive thought in our country,’ he said.

M.Ryzhenkov delivered a lecture on ‘Priority Directions of the Foreign Policy of the Republic of Belarus at the Current Stage’ for the students of the Academy. It gave a thorough assessment of the current situation in the world and analysed the development of the main modern geopolitical processes.

‘The crisis of the international and European security architecture is directly projected on Belarus, which is an integral part of it. Being in the centre of Europe, we are more interested than anyone else in restoring peace, security and stability on the European continent,’ the Minister pointed out.
