Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus O.Kravchenko visits Cyprus

On January 18-19, 2018 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Oleg Kravchenko, visited the Republic of Cyprus to participate in the first round of political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Cyprus. 

The Cypriot delegation was led by the Permanent Secretary, Alexandros Zenon.

In the course of consultations, the parties discussed a broad range of issues of bilateral cooperation in the political, trade, economic, humanitarian spheres, as well as extension of bilateral legal base. The sides exchanged views on topical issues on international agenda, interaction in multilateral and regional organizations, including security issues, development of relations between Belarus and the EU. The parties agreed to sign the Memorandum of understanding on cooperation and bilateral political consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus.

The Deputy Minister, O.Kravchenko, also met with the Foreign Minister of Cyprus, Ioannis Kasoulides.

Opportunities for enhancing bilateral cooperation in various spheres will be discussed during the meeting of O.Kravchenko with the members of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Cyprus, the President of Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Christodoulos Angastiniotis, and the Honorary Consul of Belarus in Cyprus, Demosthenis Chrysomilas.
