Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus P.Utyupin participates in the meeting of the CIS Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs

On April 11, 2025 Almaty, Republic of Kazakhstan, hosted a meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The Belarusian delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Pavel Utyupin.
The participants exchanged views on actual international issues and deepening cooperation within the CIS. They discussed current situation in the Commonwealth area and around the external borders.
P.Utyupin stressed in his speech the need to strengthen multilateral cooperation between the CIS member states, which is of particular importance in the conditions of unpredictable international situation, the presence of open armed conflicts along the perimeter of the CIS member states.
Following the meeting, a number of documents were signed to intensify cooperation within the CIS in foreign policy, cultural and humanitarian spheres, in the field of security.
At the meeting of the CIS Ministerial Council the provisions on the basic organisations of the CIS member states in the sphere of information support of education systems, adult education and outreach activities were approved.
The heads of delegations of Foreign Ministries of the CIS member states have supported the Belarus’ initiative to adopt on forthcoming 9 May a CIS honorary title «City of Labour Glory. 1941-1945» on a number of cities of the CIS member states which made a significant contribution to our common Great Victory, the 80th anniversary of which will be celebrated in May.
The next meeting of the CIS Ministerial Council will be held on October 9, 2025 in Dushanbe, Republic of Tajikistan.
