On February 19, 2026, the Loshitsky historical and cultural complex hosted a literary evening dedicated to International Mother Language Day and the Year of the Belarusian Woman, as declared in our country.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus in cooperation with the international satellite TV channel "Belarus 24" of the National State TV and Radio Company of the Republic of Belarus, with the support of the Minsk City Executive Committee.

The festive evening was attended by representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in our country and members of the National Commission for UNESCO. In total, the event brought together more than 100 guests from 30 states.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Maxim Ryzhenkov delivered the welcoming remarks. He noted that International Mother Language Day, established at the initiative of UNESCO, serves as a reminder of the value and uniqueness of every language, its role in preserving cultural heritage, and the shaping of national identity.

The head of the foreign ministry emphasized that the Belarusian language is characterized by a softness and melodiousness that embody the inner strength and dignity of the nation. He recalled the testament of the Belarusian printing pioneer Francysk Skaryna: "Love and honor, as a sanctuary, the native word with which merciful God brought you into this world."

The Minister noted that the Year of the Woman declared in Belarus once again emphasizes the exceptional role of Belarusian women in the life of society and the state, as well as their contribution to preserving traditions and raising future generations.

As part of the literary program, heads of diplomatic missions from India, China, Kyrgyzstan, the United Arab Emirates, Serbia, Slovakia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, the United Kingdom, Israel, and Syria, as well as representatives of the UN and IOM in Belarus, recited works by prominent Belarusian authors dedicated to women, mothers, and the Motherland.

Guests of the evening also enjoyed the richness of Belarusian culture. They were presented with performances by the "Khoroshki" Honored Choreographic Ensemble, the "Malinovka by Spamash" musical project, new linen looks from the "Rodnaye Modnaye" project and the Fashion Center, as well as works by students of the National Center for Artistic Creativity of Children and Youth.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus expresses its gratitude to all participants and partners of the event for their contribution to the development of humanitarian cooperation and the promotion of the Belarusian language and culture as an integral part of national identity and international dialogue.
