Minsk hosts Belarus – United States Human Rights Dialogue

On October 12, 2018 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus hosted a round of the Human Rights Dialogue between Belarus and the United States. 

The Belarusian side was headed by the Deputy Foreign Minister, Oleg Kravchenko, the American delegation was led by the Senior Bureau Official, Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor of the U.S. Department of State, former Ambassador of the United States of America to the Republic of Belarus (2000-2003), Michael Kozak.

Among participants of the dialogue were representatives of Foreign Ministry, Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection, Ministry of Justice, House of Representatives of the National Assembly, Investigative Committee, Central Commission on Elections and National Referenda, as well as the Charge d’Affaires of the United States in Belarus, Jenifer Moore, representatives of the Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in Belarus.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues regarding human rights, including their observation in Belarus and the United States, as well as collaboration on human rights with treaty bodies of international organizations.
