Sergei Martynov: The European Commissioner for External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy, Benita Ferrero Waldner, is on a visit to Minsk. Today, there have been fruitful and constructive negotiations with the President of the Republic of Belarus. I and Ms.Ferrero Waldner also discussed everything during our meeting and in details at the meetings of the two delegations.

Sergei Martynov: Today, we are having a meeting of the Belarus-Germany Council on Economic Cooperation. Its work was resumed after a break of 13 years. That reflects first of all the improving atmosphere in relationship between Belarus and Germany, Belarus and the European Union, and also an increasing interest among businesses of both countries.
Question: Mass media reported that a number of documents were signed at the CSTO meeting in Moscow. Reports noted that these documents were signed despite the absence of the Belarusian delegation. How does the Foreign Ministry access this situation from a legal perspective.
Sergei Martynov: Today the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia, Samuel Zbogar, is visiting us. This is the Foreign Minister’s first visit to Belarus and we welcome that. Mr. Minister is here in his second capacity as well as the Chair of the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers.
