Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus O.Kravchenko participates in the conference in Rome

On January 29, 2018 in Rome, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Oleg Kravchenko, participated in the OSCE Conference on the Responsibility of States, Institutions and Individuals in the Fight against Anti-Semitism.

In his speech at the plenary session of the conference, O.Kravchenko confirmed a principled and consistent position of Belarus in the field of combating anti-Semitism in the context of the global efforts of the international community to combat racism, xenophobia, intolerance and discrimination in all forms and manifestations.

The participants of the conference were presented with the information about the Holocaust tragedy in Belarus. The Deputy Minister drew the attention of those present to the long tradition of peaceful life of representatives of different nationalities and religious confessions on the Belarusian land, the absence in our country of any conflicts on national, religious, cultural grounds.

The event was also attended by the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Italian Foreign Minister, Angelino Alfano, the OSCE Secretary General, Thomas Greminger, representatives of governmental structures from 20 countries, non-governmental organizations, national and religious communities.

On the margins of the conference, O.Kravchenko met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, Angelino Alfano, heads of several delegations of the OSCE participating countries. The parties discussed issues on the bilateral agenda, cooperation between Belarus and the EU, as well as collaboration on the international arena.

As part of the event, the Heads of delegations were received by the Pope.
