Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus V.Makei meets the Under-Secretary-General, Head of UN Office of Counter-Terrorism

On October 8, 2018 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, met with the Under-Secretary-General, Head of the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism, Vladimir Voronkov, who is visiting Minsk to participate in the High Level International Conference “Preventing and Countering Terrorism in the Digital Age” (October 9-10, 2018).
The Head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry emphasized the leading and coordinating role of the UN in global counter-terrorism efforts. The Foreign Minister assured the UN Under-Secretary-General of the full Belarusian support of the activities of the UN in general and the Counter-Terrorism Office of the Organization in particular.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on promising areas of interaction between the Republic of Belarus and the UN on topics regarding combatting terrorism.
