Ambassador of Belarus V.Skvortsov meets the Minister of Aliyah and Immigrant Absorption of Israel

On December 4, 2017 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the State of Israel, Vladimir Skvortsov, met with the Minister of Aliyah and Integration of Israel, co-chairman of the Joint Belarusian-Israeli Committee for Trade and Economic Cooperation (JBIC), Sofa Landver.

As part of the discussion of the bilateral agenda, special emphasis was placed on the mutual evaluation of the implementation of the agreements resulted the 5th meeting of the JBIC in Minsk on March 13, 2017.

The parties stressed that a number of points of joint action contained in the final protocol of the event have already been completed, while others are in the process of implementation. Various directions of interagency cooperation were touched upon during the meeting, including interaction between the Foreign Ministries of both countries in the form of expert consultations on a wide range of foreign policy issues.

In addition, certain aspects related to the current draft bilateral agreements, which are at different stages of elaboration, were discussed.

Noting the achieved high level of balance in mutual trade and the tendency of activation of investment cooperation, the head of the diplomatic mission drew attention to a number of spheres of effective application of capital available in Belarus that could become attractive for Israeli investors.

A separate topic of discussion was this year joint jubilee — the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Belarus and Israel, which was timed to coincide with a number of events in the political, economic and information-cultural context in both countries.

The general algorithm for the preparation of the next, sixth meeting of the JBIC, which, according to the agreement, is planned to be held in 2018, was preliminarily approved during the meeting.

Vladimir Skvortsov informed the Minister of Aliyah and Integration about the schedule of mutual visits to be held in the coming months within the framework of interagency and interparliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
