On June 1, 2017 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, welcomed the participants of the session of the Belarusian-German Non-Governmental Council for Business Cooperation.

In his statement, V.Makei stressed that recently the Belarusian-German cooperation is developing very intensively and relies on a number of time-tested institutional mechanisms, including the Working Group on Trade and Investment. Minister noted that the non-governmental business cooperation council is aimed to find qualitatively new, creative ideas and initiatives in order to identify and eliminate possible artificial, bureaucratic obstacles to the development of business contacts between Belarusian and German companies.

The Head of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus assured members of the Council that they would receive political support. V.Makei noted that this structure will continue to be the subject of special attention of the President of the Republic of Belarus, who initiated its’ creation in 2009.

V.Makei expressed confidence that the Business Council will make a significant contribution to the promotion of the idea of creating a single economic space from Lisbon to Vladivostok, establishing a direct dialogue between the EU and the EEU.

In conclusion, the Minister stressed that Belarus is open to broad cooperation with Germany in all areas. The Belarusian side is interested in attracting German technologies and implementing investment projects, first of all, in those areas where Germany is a recognized leader.
