Statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus in connection with the launch of a Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action on Iran's nuclear programme (January 18, 2016)

18-01-2016

Belarus is optimistic about the beginning of practical implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) between Iran and the six intermediary countries on Iran's nuclear program (China, France, Germany Russia, United Kingdom, USA).

The Republic of Belarus supports the efforts of Iran and the six intermediary countries on the lifting of sanctions on the Islamic Republic of Iran and the creation of a favorable international environment.

We are convinced that full implementation of JCPOA by the parties will contribute to strengthening of international security, non-proliferation regime, and would be an effective contribution in support of the stabilization of the situation in the region.

Entry of JCPOA into force is a clear example of lack of alternatives to dialogue and diplomatic solutions for complex international problems and contradictions.

Removing sanctions against Iran opens new perspectives for further development of the Belarusian-Iranian mutual cooperation.
