Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Belarus and the Czech Republic

Оn January 19, 2017 Prague hosted first Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Belarus and the Czech Republic on the level of Heads of Economic Departments.

Belarusian delegation was headed by the Deputy Director of the Department of Foreign Economic Activity of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Valery Kolesnik, the Czech delegation was led by the Director of the Economic Diplomacy Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Marek Svoboda.

During the consultation, the sides discussed the development of bilateral trade, economic and investment cooperation, interaction between Belarus and the EU in trade, economic and investment spheres in the framework of the Eastern Partnership and other EU initiatives.

The parties also considered cooperation between Belarus and Czech Republic in the context of the dialogue between Belarus and the World Trade Organization, interactions between the Republic of Belarus and the Czech Republic within the framework of Chinese initiatives, including The Silk Road Economic Belt and in the fields of Forum “16+1”, as well as wide range of issues of mutual interest.

Belarusian delegation also met with representatives of the Czech-Belarusian chamber of industry and trade, and in the Agency «CzechTrade».
