Ambassador of Belarus A.Alekandrov visits Mexico

On October 24-27, 2016 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Republic of Cuba and the United Mexican States
non-resident visited Mexico.

During his trip, the Ambassador of Belarus met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, Carlos de Icaza González. The sides discussed current issues of the bilateral agenda, as well as ways to enhance bilateral relations in areas of mutual interest.

At the meeting with the Director General of the Foreign Ministry Department for Europe of Mexico, Francisco del Río, the sides considered issues of expansion of the legal framework of bilateral relations, strengthening of Belarusian-Mexican cooperation in the framework of international organizations, the development of inter-parliamentary relations, as well as organizing a number of joint activities.

Thr Ambassador of Belarus also met with the Heads of the Mexican Agency for International Cooperation and Development at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation in the scientific, technical and cultural fields. Special attention was paid to cooperation in trade and economic spheres.

Ways to enhance trade and economic cooperation, in particular, the possibility of supplies of Belarusian industrial products to the Mexican market and the development of the organization of cooperation, were discussed at the meeting with  the  keadership of the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Agriculture of Mexico.

At the meeting at the City Hall of Mexico City, A.Aleksandrov discussed the issues of participation of Belarusian companies in infrastructure projects in the Mexican capital, the possibility of deliveries of Belarusian passenger transport in Mexico.

During the visit, the Ambassador of Belarus also held meetings at the National Chamber of Commerce of Mexico City, the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology, as well as with representatives of the Mexican business community.
