Opening of the Exhibition “From Lisbon via Minsk to Vladivostok”

On December 21, 2016 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, participated in the opening ceremony of the international art project “From Lisbon via Minsk to Vladivostok”, organized upon the initiative of the Embassy of Belarus in France / Permanent Mission of Belarus to UNESCO with the active participation of all Belarusian Foreign Missions.

In his statement, V.Makei underlined a unique nature of this project that brings to light a variety of talents and cultures, while stressing the desire to create a common cultural space without dividing lines and borders. V.Makei noted that it is symbolic for the art project “From Lisbon via Minsk to Vladivostok” to start in Minsk, in the city that recently became a venue for important international forums and meetings, economic and political dialogue.



The project is being held in the premises of the Art Gallery of Mikhail Savitsky, a People’s Artist of the Soviet Union and Belarus, and it features 30 art works from 28 Eurasian countries.

The exhibition will be open to visitors from December 22, 2016 until February 5, 2017 and will be held under the patronage of UNESCO. The exhibition is expected to be demonstrated later on in some other countries’ capitals.
