Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus A.Kupchyna meets the Deputy Director-General for Energy of the European Commission

On September 19, 2016 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Alena Kupchyna, met with the delegation of the European Commission headed by the Deputy Director-General of the Directorate-General for Energy, Gerassimos Thomas.
The parties discussed current issues and prospects of cooperation between Belarus and the European Union in the energy sector.
In the context of construction of the Belarusian NPP the Deputy Minister stressed importance of the bilateral informative and transparent dialogue. Alena Kupchyna informed about measures taken by our country to ensure safety and reliability of the future NPP and confirmed intention of the Belarusian side to complete stress-tests for the NPP by the end of this year.
The delegation of the European Commission will also visit the Belarusian NPP site where it will get acquainted on-site with the course of construction and continue discussion with relevant authorities.
