Group of Friendship Belarus-Slovakia was founded in the Parliament of Slovakia

On September 13, 2016 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Slovak Republic, Igor Leshchena, met with the Chairman of the Constitutional Committee of the Parliament of Slovakia, Robert Madej.
During the meeting, the sides discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation, as well as the role of parliaments in the promotion of economic, trade and regional ties between Belarus and Slovakia.
R.Madej briefed the Ambassador of Belarus on the foundation in the National Council (Parliament) of the Slovak Republic of the Group of Friendship with Belarus. 16 MPs are currently members of the Group.
The parties noted that the establishment of a separate Group of Friendship with Belarus in the Parliament of Slovakia demonstrates that Slovak MPs are interested in the development of cooperation with Belarusian colleagues.
