Belarusian-Turkish Joint Intergovernmental Economic Commission

On July 26 – 27, 2017 Minsk hosted 9th meeting of the Belarusian-Turkish Joint Intergovernmental Economic Commission.

The meeting of the Commission was chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, and by the Minister of Forestry and Water Resources of Turkey, Veysel Eroglu.

During the plenary session of the Commission, the sides discussed a wide range of issues of mutual interest in bilateral cooperation, including interaction in trade and investment, industry, agriculture and forestry, transport and logistics, science and technology, tourism.

The agreements reached during the session of the Commission were reflected in the final Protocol.

In addition to that, a number of bilateral documents were signed during the meeting, including those on cooperation in the field of forestry, water resources, meteorology, free economic zones.

On July 27, during the negotiations between the Co-Chairs of the Commission, V.Makei and V.Eroglu, the sides reaffirmed a friendly character, high level and a positive dynamics of the development of the bilateral relations between Belarus and Turkey, a significant potential of mutually beneficial cooperation. The parties also discussed prospects for further enhancement of the Belarusian-Turkish cooperation based on the existing agreements between the Heads of State and decisions of the Intergovernmental Commission, as well as considered opportunities for implementation of joint projects.

On July 28, V.Makei and V.Eroglu are going to attend the opening ceremony of the 14th session of the Belarus – Turkey Business Council and Business Forum.
