Members of the Belarus MFA Veterans Club meet representatives of the UN Secretariat and international organisations of the UN system, accredited in Minsk

On October 12, 2016 prior to the UN Day, in the UN/UNDP Office in Minsk, members of the Club of Veterans of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus met with the UN Resident coordinator/ UNDP Resident Representative, Sanaka Samarasinha.

Participants of the meeting – members of the Veterans Club – in different years participated in the work of the UN Secretariat and the UN system organisations, as well as ensured cooperation and participation of the BSSR and the Republic of Belarus in activities of the Organisation.

Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Heads of Offices of the UN Population Fund (UNFPA), the UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF), The Joint United Nations Programme on HIV and AIDS (UNAIDS) and the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) also attended the meeting.

The participants of the meeting exchanged opinions on current issues of multilateral cooperation. Special attention was paid to the role of Belarus on the international arena, Belarusian initiatives in the UN, cooperation with the international organisations.
