Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus V.Makei participates in the Meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers

On October 10, 2017 in Sochi (Russian Federation) the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, attended the meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers held on the eve of the Council of Heads of State of the Commonwealth.

Within the framework of the meeting, 18 issues were considered covering all the main areas of multilateral cooperation within the CIS.



Draft Statement on Support for the Family and Traditional Family Values and the Concept of Cooperation of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Combating Corruption were approved and submitted for consideration by the Council of Heads of State of the CIS. The draft Agreement on the exchange of information in the field of combating terrorism and extremism was considered and approved.



During the meeting, the participants discussed distribution of quota posts in the CIS Executive Committee and approved the General Provision on the procedure for holding a competition for filling positions within the Organization. The documents defining the format of interaction of the participating states for the coming years in the spheres of tourism and international youth cooperation have been adopted.



The next meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers will be held in Minsk on April 6, 2018.
