Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makei participates in the CIS Foreign Ministers Council

On April 3, 2015 Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Makei took part in the meeting of the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Bishkek.

The meeting confirmed the readiness of regional states for constructive business cooperation and mutual understanding. Heads of Foreign Ministries considered issues in the fields of security, education, culture. Special attention was paid to new challenges and cooperation in the sphere of elimination of the consequences of the emergency situations.

As a result of the discussion by the Ministers, draft resolutions on granting the status of basic institutions of CIS member states to two Belarusian research and academic institutions will be submitted for consideration at the meeting of the CIS Heads of Governments Council. These are Labor Research Institute under the Labor and Social Protection Ministry of the Republic of Belarus and Belarus State Economic University.

On the sidelines of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council meeting the parties adopted a Statement on 40 years since the signing of the Final Act of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.

The Heads of Foreign Ministries of CIS member states were received by President of the Kyrgyz Republic Almazbek Atambayev.

In the framework of the meeting of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council in Bishkek Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makei met with his colleague – Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Erlan Abdyldaev.

During the meeting the sides discussed current issues of development of Kyrgyz-Belarusian relations in political, trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

In the framework of the visit Vladimir Makei also held a number of working meetings.
