Belarusian-Russian consultations on international information security

On March 13, 2019, Belarusian-Russian interdepartmental consultations on international information security were held in Minsk. The event was opened by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Andrei Dapkiunas.

The delegations were headed, respectively, by the Deputy State Secretary of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Archakov, and by the Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Oleg Khramov.

During the consultations, the parties exchanged views on the situation in the field of international information security, including in the context of the rapid development of information and communication technologies, as well as the risks and threats stemmed from their misuse.

The parties discussed topical issues of Belarus-Russia cooperation in this field in the international organizations, in particular the UN and the OSCE, as well as the implementation of the Belarusian-Russian Agreement on cooperation in ensuring international information security.
