Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus V.Makei meets the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic

On November 1, 2018 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Vladimir Makei, met with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Miroslav Lajčák, who arrived in Minsk to participate in the MSC Core Group Meeting.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues of the Belarusian and Slovak relations. It was stressed that trade and economic cooperation is of key importance in bilateral relations. The sides considered prospects for the development of bilateral dialogue, as well as agreed to further develop mutual trade and implement joint economic projects.

The Ministers also paid attention to the agenda of Belarus-EU dialogue and discussed the prospects of cooperation within the international and regional organizations, including the United Nations and the OSCE. The sides also exchanged views on a number of current issues of the international agenda.

V.Makei congratulated the Slovak counterpart on the successful completion of his Presidency of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly.
