Permanent Representative of Belarus A.Kupchyna presents Credentials to the Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime

On January 12, 2017 the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the Austrian Republic, Permanent Representative of Belarus to the International Organizations in Vienna, Alena Kupchyna, presented Credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna, Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, Yury Fedotov.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the cooperation between Belarus and the UNODC, as well as prospects for further collaboration.

A.Kupchyna stressed the importance of the promotion international cooperation in fighting human trafficking in the context of review of the progress in implementation of the Global Plan of Action to Combat Trafficking in Persons scheduled for 2017.

Permanent Representative of Belarus announced an intention of Belarus to submit for consideration of the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs in March 2017 a draft resolution “Promoting community-, family- and school-based programmes and strategies with the purpose of preventing drug use among children and adolescents”.
