Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus S.Aleinik pays a visit to Nicaragua

On July 20, 2023 as a part of his official visit to Nicaragua, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Sergei Aleinik, met with the President of the Republic of Nicaragua,  Daniel Ortega Saavedra, and the Vice President of the Republic of Nicaragua, Rosario Murillo Sambrana.

 

They summarized the results of the work of the Belarusian delegation in Managua and reaffirmed their mutual willingness to intensify cooperation to achieve the set goals. Similarity of views on global geopolitical processes and the situation in the respective regions was confirmed.

The President of Nicaragua has received the congratulations from the Belarusian Head of state on the 44th anniversary of the triumph of the Sandinista Revolution.

The Minister S.Aleinik and the members of the Belarusian delegation held talks with their Nicaraguan counterpart, Denis Ronaldo Moncada Colindres. They discussed the current international agenda, the results of the recent summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) and the EU in Brussels, confirmed their mutual readiness to continue to show solidarity and provide mutual support in the international arena.

It was noted that in a difficult geopolitical situation it is very important for such countries as Belarus and Nicaragua to support each other, develop contacts at the interstate, intergovernmental and interpersonal levels.

Following the talks, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs signed an intergovernmental agreement on the mutual abolition of visas and an intergovernmental agreement on the establishment of a joint commission for trade and economic cooperation. A roadmap for cooperation in agriculture was approved.

The General Director of JSC “MTZ” signed a framework contract for the supply of products of the Belarusian plant to Nicaragua for a two-year period.

A representative of JSC “MAZ” and the mayor's office of Managua also signed a contract for the supply of Belarusian machinery.

An agreement was reached to supply 236 units of JSC “Amkodor” machinery for the construction industry and municipal services in Nicaragua.

The Bolshoi Theater of Belarus, the Ruben Dario National Theater, and the Nicaraguan cultural foundation “Incanto” signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
