Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vladimir Makei meets Foreign Minister of Iraq

On April 9, 2015 Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Vladimir Makei met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq Ibrahim al-Jaafari who is paying an official visit to Belarus.

During the talks the sides discussed the whole range of bilateral relations and outlined a number of steps to intensify cooperation. Ministers agreed to continue and expand a high-level dialogue with focus on the implementation of joint economic projects.

After the meeting in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister of Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus Aleksandr Shamko and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Iraq Ibrahim al-Jaafari signed a Memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Sports and Tourism of Belarus and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Iraq on cooperation in the field of sports.

The program of the visit also includes talks of Ibrahim al-Jaafari in the National Assembly, the ministries of health, education and industry of Belarus, as well as visit to the Minsk Tractor Works.

The visit of the Iraqi delegation will continue until April 11, 2015.
