Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus A.Kupchyna visits Slovakia

On October 12-14, 2016 the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus, Alena Kupchyna, is visiting the Slovak Republic.

On October 12, A.Kupchyna held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Miroslav Lajčák.

During the meeting, the parties discussed a wide range of issues of bilateral cooperation, as well as the development of Belarus-EU dialogue in the light of Slovakia’s current Presidency of the EU.

On the same day, Consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Belarus and Slovakia were held. The Belarusian delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alena Kupchyna, the Slovakian delegation was led by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia, Lukáš Parízek.

During the consultations, the sides discussed dynamics and prospects for Belarus-Slovak relations in political, economic, humanitarian and other spheres, strengthening of bilateral legal base, agenda of Belarus-EU dialogue, as well as the cooperation in the frame of international and regional organizations.

Special attention was paid to the issues of interaction between Belarus and Slovakia during the Presidency of Belarus of the CEI in 2017.

On October 13, Alena Kupchyna will meet with the Chairman of the Constitutional committee of the National Council (Parliament) of the Slovak Republic, the Head of the Group of Friendship with Belarus of the Parliament of Slovakia, Robert Madej.
