On the Participation of the Belarus’ Embassy in Japan Counselor in the Ceremony in Nagasaki

On August 9, 2013 Belarus’ Embassy in Japan Counselor Mr.Sergei Terentiev visited Nagasaki to take part in the annual commemoration for the atomic bombing victims.

The Prime-Minister of Japan Mr.Shinzō Abe, the representatives of the Parliament, diplomatic corps took part in the event.

Within the visit the Belarusian diplomat met with the leadership of Nagasaki, representatives of the Japanese Parliament, including with Mr.Kozo Akino, Parliamentary Vice-Minister of the Environment of Japan. The parties discussed cooperation between Belarus and Japan in the rehabilitation of the regions that suffered from the disaster at the atomic power station “Fukushima-1”.

During the meeting with the professor Mr.Cuniti Yamashita, Head of the Board of Trustees of the Nagasaki University and the Vice-Minister of the Fukushima Medical University the parties discussed the exchange of specialists in nuclear medicine and the preparation for the signing of the Agreement on cooperation with the Republican Research Centre for Radiation Medicine and Human Ecology (Gomel).
